Helpline Chat Are you anxious, lonely, or so hopeless that you are considering suicide? Contact Helpline. You can call, send an online letter or chat with a trained on-call operator. Talking helps!
Call Helpline
The Helpline will be on call at every evening from 9 pm to 11 pm.
Helpline Chat
Our chat service is as safe as the phone. You can be anonymous, and you will talk to the on-call operator alone. You can chat on Thursdays and Sundays from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Helpline online letter
You can write and send an online letter to Helpline anonymously.
Talking helps
Is your life difficult and your relationships in a bind? Are you distressed by grief, illness or financial situation? Are you lonely? Does life feel difficult and do you need support? Talking helps.
The phone is open to everyone and you can speak Finnish. You choose what topic you want to talk about and if you wish, you can also ask to be prayed for.
Secure Service
Contacting the Helpline – the phone hotline, chat and online mailbox – is secure. No outsider can hear your conversation or read your messages with the on-call operator. You do not need to give your name or tell them where you are.
The phone does not offer therapy, ready-made solutions or expert advice. You will be listened to and supported by an on-call operator who has been trained for the task. He or she is bound by confidentiality.
The Helpline service is intended to be nationwide and free of charge for callers.
When you call
The communication is safe for you, because no one other than you and the operator can hear the call,
* The call is not recorded
* The call is free for you
* Your phone number is not visible to the operator.
When you chat
You do not have to say your name when chatting on the service phone. The operator cannot find out your identity. Messages disappear after the chat conversation has ended.
When you write an online letter
You do not have to tell who you are. The service cannot trace the sender of the online letter. You will receive a reply to your letter within 24 hours of sending the letter. You have the opportunity to read your letter and the reply to it for two weeks. After that, they will disappear from the service. Any personal information and IP address in your message will also be deleted, nothing will be saved.
